The mission of the doctoral programme is the conduct of original academic research. The programme leads to a Doctoral Diploma, certifying the successful completion of original research which constitutes a substantial contribution to the advancement of knowledge in the corresponding discipline.
SELECTION AND ADMISSION
In order to qualify for admission, candidates must submit the following documents:
- Application in Greek, Curriculum Vitae, and two recommendation letters
- B.A. and M.A. degrees in the area in which the applicant wishes to do research recognized by the Greek state, through its official organ, DOATAP
- Academic Transcripts (BA and M.A.) to ensure that the applicant has a high GPA in courses relevant to the applicant’s research
- A copy of the applicant’s M.A. dissertation (if applicable)
- Copy of publications (if applicable)
- Certificate of B2 level (or above) proficiency in Greek
- Certificate of B2 level (or above) proficiency in one of the following languages: English, French, German, Russian, Spanish or Italian
- Certificate C1 level proficiency in one Slavic language (in case the candidate does not hold a BA degree in the Philology of the Slavic language related to his proposed topic of research)
